My Passion for fitness started 6 years ago. I’ve been heavily obese my whole life and at the young age of 22 I weighed 300 lbs. with a body fat of 34%. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The doctor had put me on medication and told me if kept it up I could see my first heart attack in my mid early 30’s. Looking at the long scale of life I knew that wasn’t far away. That sparked the fire that later became the fuel to get me going. “It was DO or DIE” I didn’t know much about fitness or nutrition, all I knew was that the weight had to go.
Long story short I had try everything. I read books/magazines I’ve sought help from trainers who didn’t believe in me and friends who said I couldn’t keep up. If there’s one quote I’ll never forget it’s “Knowledge is POWER”. With that in mind I told myself I didn’t need anyone who didn’t need me. So what did I do? I started educating myself. I spent countless hours with dietitians and nutritionists, sports coaches and physical therapists. I had learned a lot about nutrition, anatomy and physical movement. By then I had lost a total of 110 lbs. and dropped my bf to 7%, I was the lightest I’ve been in my whole life but for some reason it just wasn’t enough. I wasn’t satisfied.
When you climb the “ladder of knowledge” the greatest thing you can do is spread it and educate others, so that’s exactly why I became a trainer. I felt my greater purpose wasn’t to benefit myself but to help others. Since becoming a personal trainer in 2010 I have helped dozens of people reach their fitness and lifestyle goals. I have trained people of all shapes and sizes with every goal you could imagine. To this day I am always learning something new and to this day I am sharing that information with every and anyone willing to learn.
